Orca whales in and around Depoe Bay
Fishing Report: 06/11/2026
Had a pod of Orca whales right out in front of Depoe Bay today really putting on a great show.
Season Info:
*Daily bag limit 4 fish per angler
*Yelloweye and Quillback rockfish prohibited at all times in all waters
*Canary daily sub-bag rockfish of 2 fish per angler
*Fishing open all depths year around
*Cabezon prohibited until 1 fish sub bag limit beginning July 1st-minimum length 16 inches- Lingcod bag limit 3 fish per angler minimum length 22 inches
*Flatfish bag limit 25 fish per angler
*Longleader fishing offshore outside 40 fathom regulators line-10 fish per angler-some specie restrictions do apply on this fishery do exist so check all ODFW regulations for this fishery.
HALIBUT SEASONS
BEGINNING MAY 1ST, 2026, 7 days per week

Tghhe weekend is almost upon us

We still have some spots available for the weekend on our trips as we had to cancel a few Halibut trips because of the OFFSHORE wind reports are going to be up this weekend and the first part of next week. So we do have openings for INSHORE bottom fishing trips and the salmon season is open now in our area. We have heard that there have been some salmon caught south of us down by the Newport lighthouse. Will let you know when they get a little cLoser to us here in Depoe Bay.

Fishing Report: 06/08/2026
Had two boats out today on an ocean that looked like it was flat calm when they left the docks at 6am but was suppose to turn into a gale warning with heavy rain at 11am. The weather warning rested another hour till about noon and allowed the Samson and the Surfrider to have a pretty nice ocean to fish in between a few rain squalls. The Samson came home with a limit of rockfish and did really well on an improving crab catch with five of those critters per-person. The Surfrider came close on the rockfish catch and added 15 Lingcod on the boat as well as 4 crabs pert person. Tomorrow folks is a day off due to a predicted rough ocean. Hope we will be back on the water Wednesday.
